The man coughed and pushed himself up onto his hands and knees, water dripped from his nose. He was aware that he was soaking wet but his skin was numb, any normal human would have been frozen by the icy water.
He closed his eyes a moment to remember what had happened, where he was, who he was.
Leina was getting tired of waiting for the police to come save her, and get her out of the mess she was in at the moment. Her arms were tied behind her to the back of a chair, and her hands had gone numb. Her jaw hurt from the rag that had been shoved in it and a bandanna tied over that.
Aloria gritted her teeth at the sound of tires screeching to a halt on wet pavement. I hate this stupid planet she thought to herself as she stomped up to the nearest shop to get out of the rain.
Alanora sighed as she turned the key to her apartment door, slipping in and locking the door back behind her. There was a time, in the long ago past that she wouldn’t have had to do that, and if she’d had to, she would have done it with a spell. Now, however, was now, and the past was the past.
Alanora's side of the story occurs sometime in the way future of this universe after a nasty fight in which the powers of the Emelets were stolen by the Tnemelives.
This was kind of an attempt to make the Emelets more reasonable, but... alas, that failed.
